The SHARD, not based on any original model, is a completely newly designed RC aerobatic aircraft by René Marschall. This allowed the special requirements of manufacturing with 3D printers to be taken into account in the basic design.
For the first time, we are using a new construction method instead of the classic single-wall printing, which provides the necessary stability and everyday usability for an extremely agile aircraft. For this we have added a new profile for the settings in Cura, PROFILE_5_gyroid. This allows very compact building blocks, reinforced with carbon rods, to allow extreme flight maneuvers. All LW-PLA parts of the SHARD are printed with this profile.
Another advantage of this method is the higher temperature stability in direct sunlight.
The SHARD has attachable side force generators, but can of course be flown without them. The ailerons, elevator and rudder are designed for large angles to allow the usual 3D flight maneuvers. It is also great for classic aerobatics or leisurely flying. The SHARD is a model for experienced pilots, who can adjust it exactly to their personal preferences.
The download also includes vector files of decals in original size.
